Hi all,

I run an atheist podcast The Imaginary Friends Show, www.ImaginaryFriendsShow.com, from my basement in Australia. We're up to 14 episodes thus far and have acheived a pretty good following of just under a thousand 'listeners' a week (i.e. it's the number of people who download the show... can't tell how many actually listen to it).

I interviewed Odin Zeus McGaffer (pen-name, his real name, I've heard, is Yeshua ben Yeuseph) author of 'Does God Get Diarreah' over the weekend and he's giving away several coppies of his book (which I read prior to the interview, and is actually an incredibly compelling piece of literature) to listeners of the show.

All you have to do is join The Imaginary Friends Show - Podcast group on Facebook and post a story about "what you did to get kicked out of church."

Listen to the episode here: http://www.blip.tv/file/4136679

May God be less.

Does it count if I start going to church now?
I think I remember a post where you DID tell the story..something about punching a bishop? or was that someone else? haha
Well, why not say that "this happened to a friend of mine...." post it on the Imaginary Friends Show facebook page and blammo, you've got a book!
That's what I'd like to know. Does it have to have been unintentional, or can you start attending a church with the specific goal of getting yourself kicked out? Either way, now that the idea is in my head, I might just go ahead and do it anyway :)
Intentional/unintentional, absolutely, anything that got you kicked out of church, put it up on The Imaginary Friends Show Facebook page and you can win a copy!
why bother being rejected by a group of people that are irrelevant to you..don't go in the first place. don't give them the satisfaction. Reject them!!! lol
Why? because you can win a copy of a really good atheist book!
Don't mean to derail, but you remind me of an author from "Free Inquiriy" mag who for fun tried to get himself excommunicated from the catholic church on the grounds of apostasy. He sent a copy of his baptismal cert and a number of articles promoting atheism which he had written to a bishop in Buffalo NY where he lives, but they didn't excommunicate him. He was annoyed because I think he even cited the vatican doc that states that apostasy is officially deserving of excommunication.
Michael, this is a discussion of what got you kicked out of 'a' church, not what got you excommunicated.

I've been excommunicated. It was quite easy, I 'defiled' the priests brother's daughter (a catholic girl who was still a virgin at 18... that is against nature)... then his wife (FYI, it is true, what they say about Catholic women). They were very upset and I got the boot.
