Atheists of Atheist Nexus! Lend me your eyes! The evangelicals and the born-again's are at 34% population in America. Catholics are at 25% in America. Non-Religion is at 15% in America. We are bigger that the Black and Hispanic population individually. We are ten times larger than the Mormons, the Muslims and the Observant Jews. It is time for the Non-Religious population of America to unite and become a political party! The time is now! For too long, we have been ridiculed. No longer, shall we sit by and have the 'Theists' destroy America! We must unite!

Atheists are the only rational people left in the United States of America. Even on Facebook, there are people so quick to shut Atheists down, stating that it is "Out of Proportion" for the Atheists to unite.  Atheists must a party, if not a political one.  Why must we Atheists be cast aside while Theists want to impose laws that will hurt the gathering of knowledge?  Why must we sit by while 'Theists' wish to plunge the world back into the dark ages?  The time is now! We must unite! Together we shall face the hardships; together we will stand tall against ridicule; together we shall show the American People that Atheism is rational and not to be feared. We are not "Out of Proportion" to unite.  Why is it that other sects of life are allowed to be organized, but when Atheists spout the Idea, we are so quickly silence? Atheists must unite, and we shall have the power to sway an election in our favor.  You want to know why every politician passes bills in favor of the Jewish party? Because the Jews vote as one.  You piss off a Jew, they are not going to vote for you.

We Atheists must unite into the Atheist Party of America!  We will see that fellow Atheists are given a voice!  That is the most important thing; a voice.  A voice for those who are still in the closet.  A voice for Atheists forced to lead a false life under 'Theism'. We will pull the individual voices together as one.  From New York to Miami, San Francisco to Seattle, Austin to Chicago, there are individual voices yelling and screaming rationalism at the tyrant to 'Theism'.  In the Atheist Party of America we will add strength behind the voice of the individual.  Our untied voice will yell and scream rationalism at the monster of 'Theism', and we will know that we are not alone.  In the United States of America, we Atheists will not be alone.

United we will stand against 'Theism', and united we will break down the bonds that have separated us.

We must unite!  Spread the word!

(At the top, this is the first part)
Atheists are the only rational people left in the United States of America.

I've met many rational theists and many irrational atheists.

Atheism as a political party does not appeal to me at all. In fact, in makes no sense. Atheism is not a platform built on positive ideas, i.e. constructive tenets. For a political party, this is needed. Otherwise, you have a party of contrarians like the Tea Party movement, whose main platform is that of opposition. What little they offer in constructive ideas are feeble and ill-defined. We'd be better off throwing our support behind organizations like Americans United for Separation of Church and State.
@Reggie, I completely agree and the analogy to the Tea Party is fitting. We should certainly support organizations that are focused on spreading reasoned understanding or reducing state ties to organized religions. Also, in our strong two-party system, third parties are nearly alienated from the political process and given very little exposure.

Definitely.
How about Humanism instead? We could try to get back to that whole "of the people, by the people, for the people" sort of thing. I recognize the need for Atheists to publicly support each other, but a broader coalition of Humanists (including atheists and believers) could be a force to be reckoned with . . .
Humanism would be an example of a positive belief system.
I believe Humanism is a cop out, although I am not against this being used as it is our right to choose, that is what they call democracy., I belong to my local Humanist Society here in the UK and have tried to change this to Atheist or Atheism. If we are to unite do not let us dilly dally around. Show others that we mean business.
We only rely on polls etc to determine how much of a percentage belong to different groups.
Unite yes.
Also, this term "humanist" keeps getting tossed about. The term is so ambiguous as to be useless for defining a movement of any sort.

You might look more into it.

Herding cats? More like pushing a rope.
Fair enough. But there are basic tenets, at least according to the American Humanist Association. For example, it doesn't mean that God is the basis for morality, even if someone wanted Humanism to mean that. Strictly speaking, you are wrong, but generally speaking, as a political movement, I agree with you.
Andrew I agree. I have bought up the subject of being an Atheist to many acquaintances, and I have been surprised how many agree with me. I let them have our web address and hope to spread the word. I feel as though I am a pioneer to be included in history as one of many who have bought logic and reason to the World.
Unite.
I thank you.

Not many Atheists are as hardcore against 'Theism'. 'Theism' has blocked and separated us from one another. If you can say so, 'Theism' is afraid of us; of Atheists. That is the reason we are separated, that we are stripped of a voice. 'Theism' is fat, bloated, and corrupted. It is a giant Octopus and it's tentacles reach froward and strangled the basics of society. Politics, Media, Internal and External affairs; the tentacles of 'Theism' wish to control all. At the same time as corrupting the higher levels of government, 'Theism' is pushing people apart from their friends and family; to create a class that is devoted to a fictional character--a character created and designed to control all aspects of humans. There are special classes of the 'Theism' hierarchy. At the top are the 'Strong Theists'. They are the ones who have manipulated the weaker classes and show the truth of the existence of 'Theism'--to create money. That is all it is, to create large amounts of sums, that cannot be taxed. Where does the 'Strong Theists' get the money from? The 'Weak Theists'. The sheep. The 'Weak Theists' are the poor fellows that have been separated from their family and friends. And then at the bottom levels are the foot soldiers of 'Theism'. Those who act on the behalf of the spoon fed lies from the 'Strong Theists'. I don't wish to name people... *Cough* Bill O'Riley, Glenn Beck, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, The 700 Club, Fox News... *Cough*.

Of Course, this sounds bad, I know. If we unite, the bonds that have separated us will fall. No longer will 'Theism' keep us apart. I may be a loud mouth Atheist, and 'Theism' can deal with just one, but how will 'Theists' deal with 15% of the American people? Individually 'Theism' will crush us. But United, we will stand tall against 'Theism'; we will rise to the challenge. We are Atheists! We will unite, and when we do, We shall never bow before 'Theism' again!
