I recently watched a video from The Amazing Atheist titled "#ThingsThatAnnoyMe" and the title is self-explanatory. I thought it would be interesting to see what you guys had to say, everything that annoys you. Anything you hate, dislike, disapprove, loath or even disagree with. Just write it down, I guess.

The reason I joined ThinkAtheist is because of Belle Rose and her discussion "Brag about yourself!" and I liked the purpose of the post and all that good stuff. This is, I guess, to anyone that just wants to release some steam and complain about anything or whatever, doesn't matter. So go apeshit and write down anything and everything you can think of that annoys you. Have fun.

Thank you to anybody who does post a comment.

Glad I'm not the only one :)

Willful ignorance? Holy moly that's a lot of hatin'.

with a wink

I hate peeling an orange, only to find that it is all dried out and hard.  Alternately, I LOVE a good orange. Sweet, tangy, juicy, messy oranges provide one of my favorite sensory experiences. When I have one of those oranges, it goes way beyond simply consuming a piece of fruit.

I hate peeling oranges slightly more than I enjoy eating them !

If you have siblings, kids or a good boyfriend/girlfriend, then you could make a puppy face like the dog in your picture and ask them to do you the favor of peeling any oranges you want.
And if they don't do it right away, then you can always turn to "Well, if you reeeeaaally love me..."

I hate the destruction of the environment, the threat it presents to humanity, and that those who profit by enabling the worst damage are funding the disinformation campaigns that politicize science and dissuade the public from demanding action.

I hate the seemingly endless cuts in funding for scientific research, especially into promising new sources of energy and the exploration of space, efforts which drive technological invention and will better our odds of surviving as a species.

I hate that most of the world lives in poverty, that almost a billion people (mostly women) cannot read or sign their names, that 3.7 billion people have inadequate access to drinking water and sanitation, that a child dies every 4 seconds (21,000 every day) from starvation or easily treatable disease, and (most of all) that income inequality is rising steadily around the world.

I hate that women in most of the world are systematically oppressed, subjugated, mutilated or murdered. I hate that more people are slaves today than at any other time in human history. I hate that millions of children around the world are exploited for sexual abuse, armed violence, drug trafficking, and manual labor. I hate that international spending on weapons and warfare dwarfs what it could cost to virtually end the horrific suffering, ignorance, starvation, and disease that fills this world.

I hate to imagine how many minds-- the next Albert Einstein, Emmy Noether, Nelson Mandela, William Shakespeare, Louis Armstrong, Marie Curie, Alan Turing, Galileo Galilei, Martin Luther King, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, or Leonardo Da Vinci-- have died in childhood, languishing in misery and obscurity, all over the world before humanity could benefit from their gifts.

When I started this, I was really expecting things more like "I hate getting sweaty palms when playing video games" and stuff like that. Small things that would make others chuckle, I guess.
But I like your comment a lot, too. I would hope that everybody or at least most people that read your comment have the same hatred for the things you listed. I know there are times where I get frustrated just thinking about stuff like that and I imagine you have times like that, too. I could write a lot to those subjects but I don't want to write too much.
Maybe within one of our lifetimes the world will be a much better place. I sincerely hope it is at least going in a better direction.

I have read a lot from you describing the different situations you are in or witness from others and if you don't mind me asking, where in the USA do you live?
I seriously would've thought that the states by now have become more equal. I don't know exactly how it is over there in each state because I live in Europe.
I don't really know what else to say but I would like to say more to you, since you are why this discussion is even up. Sorry that I keep repeating that. I hope it's not annoying.
I don't know, I would just like to help in any way. Talking, discussing, listening, advice, whatever. This probably all sounds really weird coming from a complete stranger but I wouldn't be at the top of the weird list on the internet, so it's alright with me.

BR, I think the problem is the Constitution is it not? We don't live in that Tom Cruise movie, Minority Report, where they arrested people for "pre crimes." Until then, what can the cops do but say, "Give us a call when he kills you."?

Don't think I'm unsympathetic, but what's the solution?
