Has anyone else noticed that even though there is a separation between church and state big decisions are being voted by the government because of their religion. i.e. stem cell research, abortion, and gay marriage.

Now I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this and thinks its utterly insane and down right wrong.

It has to do with the constituents that they represent.  The constituents elect "good" christian people because they're "good" christian people and so our policies get decided by either wacko, right wing christians or a bunch of idiot liberals (which seems to be the other popular choice).  If you can't tell, I'm not a big fan of either party, the curse of being a politically conservative atheist I guess.
I mean, that's my point.  Most of the politicians that are currently elected (I've been able to vote in 1 election so far, btw) just vote for bad policies.  I mean, not all of them are bad (and not even all of the policies or all parts of a bill).  There are some decent democrats and some decent republicans.  But the vast majority of both sides have to vote for the policies that get passed.  I'm not a large fan of either side.

That`s why I would like to establish an atheistic government. If you have the time, read my post here:
