The fear that all religion instils is vile. It stops decent people thinking clearly. It keeps them in a fog of ignorance and retards the mind from using its evolved ability to think critically. I could write for hours (and have done) on this topic. Keeping the fear going by constantly preaching it and offering the empty promise of an afterlife is a sin against mankind.

@Dale - good answer. The last paragraph is spot on.

I also, I would say that religion can be reconciled with critical thinking.

Maybe overall, Christianity, because of the crusades and such. However, I'd go for Islam as the biggest current threat. At least Christians don't stone each other to death daily... but then again, maybe it's just our society's originally common-sense-based laws preventing that.

#1- It must be one of Christianity or Islam.

#2- The most harmful is their mind that wants to rule the globe.

#3- We can may mitigate this violence through "enlightenment".

Currently I believe that Islam is the most dangerous. This is because they are at where Christianity was at a couple hundred years ago with the witch trials, inquisition, etc.

I agree with that point! yeah it is really dangerous..

Also, as an ex-muslim I see some extremist christians like Joseph Farah stirring up antagonism!!

No wonder to see all this continues hatred from both sides.
