i have been doing this thing called.. thinking.. i know it's not new, but a lot of people act like it is.
I've noticed that there is always an experiment or a mathematical equation that equates to an experiment of something we can't do hands on that solves every and any problem. Even if we don't yet know the experiment, it still exists and hasn't been figured out yet.
I want to ask a believer, what is the god experiment? Besides that wicked book that you read, well you haven't really read it, your pastor reads and dictates to you certain passages, where is the proof or show me an experiment that proves there is a god?
They have claimed over and over that prayer works. Ok, pray... matter of fact have the pope come pray right before you jump off of a 50 story building and if you land and live, then do it a few more times.
I say do it a few more times because experiments have to be done over and over and over and over and over under the same conditions to produce the same results to be called a success.
They say faith works. Do they mean, having confidence in yourself before you set out to do something? That's not faith, that's self confidence, that's your internal pep talk.. i think i can, i think i can, I KNOW I CAN! It doesn't take a dead book to tell anyone with half a monkey brain to go into something with a "positive" attitude because it helps make you look like you know what you are doing.
The thing is this and this is solid proof. I wanted to take an NYC transit test for trackworker. I know nothing about track work. I read a book on it and passed the test with a 95. I still know NOTHING about track work. I went with the confidence of remembering what i've read, it doesn't mean i will be a great track worker.
I am tired of people telling me to prove to them that there is NO god.. no.. you are telling me there is one so you prove to me that there is one.
If you can blatantly say there is a god because of your personal experiences, the only thing that makes your personal experiences personal is that you experienced them while you were alone at the time.
There are many people who walked away from a car wreck and the car was totalled. There are many muslims, christians, baptists, atheists, catholics, and jews who have had that experience of surviving a car wreck. the god you are praising for that, had NO helping hand in that because it does not exist.
If there is a god, then there is no karma. If there is karma, then there is no god. If god knows all and everything happens for a reason because god made it that way, then there is no freewill.
If god made it so that from the first second of the 4 billion years the earth has been in existence that my girlfriend and i would meet, then there is no free will. There would be no chance for me to meet anyone else if this was his plan from day one.
so.. 1. if god has a plan, there is no freewill. If there is freewill, god has no plan. end of story, there is no god, there is no way to show that there is a god. If god is out of the realm of time and space as they say, then if it's busy monitoring us, it must be bored and lonely, not to mention we would never be able to comprehend such a being. The majority of the people can't even comprehend how big the earth is, and folks, it's not a really a big planet.
One can comprehend a few miles because one has jogged them or walked to school for a mile or so. You comprehend a 100 miles because you drove that far before. You may even comprehend 2000 miles because you've driven across the USA.
Now.. let's try to comprehend 93,million miles! I can't even being to scratch the surface on a million miles.
We comprehend what works within our five senses. We cannot comprehend anything beyond the realm of space and time. The men who wrote the bible lived in huts and thought the world was flat. I'll be damned if i take their word on comprehending a being of such power and telling me what he wants and how to live my life.
I don't even think i could watch an antfarm that much, because that's what we would be, actually.. we'd be less than an ant farm in comparison to our own solar system. Compared to the universe, we would be less than the parts of the parts of the parts of the parts that make up a proton or neutron. Therefore there is no god.
Just because you love your parents dearly and believe everything they told you as a child..eg; boogyman will get you if you're bad, santa claus, easter bunny, tooth fairy, rumplestiltskin, wishing on birthday candles, wishing on shooting stars, breaking mirrors causes bad luck, don't sweep your feet with a broom or you will never get married, etc etc.. oh yeah.. i almost forgot.. god. lol.. why do you grow up to stop believing? Believing is the key word in the rest of these superstitions and stories, but somehow people hold on to the god delusion?
Some of us have grown up past the god delusion, thank g.. goodness.. lmao! There is no god, end of story.
There is NO being who can read at one time, all 8 billion minds of the humans that are currently on this planet, not to mention the billions that were here and have died. Read the mind of all the plants, fish, other animals, single celled animals, insects, simple celled animals. I don't know how many trillions of souls that would be on this planet alone.
I am not even going to get into the possibility of life on other planets. I'll play with it.. if a planet 10 million light years away has single celled simple organisms, does the god have juridsticion over those souls as well?
There is way too much universe to think that this is the only planet with life. 100 million stars in our milkyway galaxy. If each star only had one planet, that's 100 million planets, there are 100 million other galaxies. i'm being generous with these numbers. If a theist would want to believe that this is the only planet with life. Their brain did not evolve and you just made your all powerful god very small. There is no god, there is no experiement to prove there is a god. There is no god. i'm finished. @noramoss
