The connection between the Creator and the Extraterrestrials
I, without a doubt, believe in aliens. Sadly, I don’t think the world learning that aliens DO exist would be the end of Christianity. However, I do think that if the proof of aliens surfaced, some religious folk would question the legality of their god, and some would be swayed enough to abandon their church. Although for some established religions it is easy to adapt and tailor what they say in their bible to fit the facts that are wounding their religion. For example, in Islam the prophet Muhammad was here on Earth, but if aliens existed, they could easily say (and believe) that other prophets were sent by their god to the alien planets. Christians, Catholics, and Jews have all suggested some theories of their own to fit aliens into the picture; they say aliens may not need saving, they may not be sinners like us humans. Another position they take is that god has been reincarnated several times, and each time has saved a particular inhabited planet. Rev. Thomas Hoffmann of Tulsa, OK stated "Religion is essentially conservative. You can put almost anything in its face and it's going to shake out a little bit, and then it's going to drop right back down. We've seen this happen historically." When faced with scientific proof, religious persons typically ignore the facts and trust their faith. One theory that scientists and others have stated is that aliens brought religion and taught it to us in ancient times. If you look at some biblical artworks you will notice spacecrafts in the background. I find this theory much more logical and possible than the actual existence of a god. I don’t claim to be an expert on anything I have just written; I am just an alien enthusiast and an atheist. I am very interested to see what others think about this.
Here are some questions to think about:
What place would aliens have here on Earth? Do you think aliens furthermore disprove the existence of some established gods, like the Christians? How do you think things would change if aliens revealed themselves to us earthlings?

I think a likely outcome is that godbots would declare aliens to be demonic. They already try to demonize "the other," over trivial differences like skin color, ethnic heritage or social status. How much easier would it be for someone who really IS "the other?" Particularly since their appearance would probably cause more than a little social upset. Obviously the work of Satan!!!1!1!!
Aliens would not disprove Xianity, since that's already disproven. Those who cling to it have demonstrated an immunity to evidence & reason, so it's hard to say what effect the presence of aliens might have on them. Our understanding of astronomy & physics would doubtlessly increase by leaps & bounds though!

It has never occurred to me that they may see aliens as the work of Satan, but that makes so much sense, they would totally pull that card.

First of all, I hope aliens stay away from earth for their own sake. Because as soon as they land I'm pretty sure the Muslims would stone them for being "Jinns". The Christians would think that it's a sign of the end of times and start riots and loot in every city. Those idiots who believe they were kidnapped by UFOs would cream their pants and last but not least
the Scientologists would say "we told you so."
Apart from humanity breaking apart even more than it is now, as you said, every religion would twist and slither itself around the fact that Aliens have suddenly been proven, and claim that Aliens actually do fit into their scripture and that their faith is therefore still true. They have done this every time a new scientific discovery came along. Religion is sneaky like that.
edit: Oh yeah and the Aliens, unless they're as retarded as humanity, would watch all this idiocy unfold, leave and probably nuke us from a safe distance.

I agree, aliens are much better off staying away from us, we're the monsters. I wasn't even going to touch Scientology with a 15 foot pole.
