I got this from a christian adoption agency. What do you think? A family must sign this in order to adopt a child from the organization. I even found out that you must sign this same piece of paper to work for the organization.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, that they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus.

ill look into it.
This is what I got,

i'm not sure exactly how all of the funding works... definitely state funding because of foster care reimbursements, etc. but we also rely heavily on donations

as a christian agency..i think legally there's no issue...but for employees to have to sign...i think there are some legal issues there..but honestly i have no idea
To be able to discriminate against employees by religion, they have to have the correct tax-exempt religious status don't they?

If they do have this, and are discriminating, then theoretically should not be getting any government funds.

If they don't have this, then they are a standard employer and should be vulnerable to lawsuit if they are discriminating.

I'm seeing "we believe", not "I believe".

It seems like the organization is saying "here's what we believe in" and not necessarily "here's what you have to believe in to adopt". Like a mission statement. But I can certainly see how signing that would be an affirmation of faith. I wouldn't do it.

I don't see a problem with this agency being Christian, as long as those seeking to adopt have other options and aren't limited in dealing with only this agency, and the agency isn't receiving state or federal funds.
