I wonder what sort of national healthcare program we'd have if our Federal legislators (a) had to live on minimum wage and (b) didn't have the current healthcare-on-steroids provided by the Federal Government. Of course, they'd have whatever reasonable subsidies and reimbursements would be needed to do their job (travel back to their states or districts, for example, mailing privileges within strict guidelines forbidding, for example, using the privilege for campaign purposes).

I wonder how they'd respond to a petition showing them that the public resents the way they've turned their "public service" into a highly paid job with health care way beyond the means of the average citizen and many well off citizens?
