SA Cardinal: Paedophiles not crimminals
The Durban cleric said he new at least two preasts who became paedophiles after being abused as children.
" now don't tell me those people are crimanally responsible like somebody who chooses to do something like that. I don't think you can really take the position and say that person deserves to be punished, He was himself damaged" His words. Is this the new cop out as he is now using psychology as an excuse. From what I see on my News 24 link this was also on BBC

Ha ha: It seems that this cardinal got the idea that it can not be justified through the scripture so lets try the mental health excuse, as long as he can make the naging go away and as long as the paedophiles don't have to take responsability for their actions. If the world had to go with his view then all paedophiles would be free they just claim that they have a mental condition. Then all laws might aswell be scraped and every criminal behaviour put down to mental health. I do belief that we do not choose our circumstances in life but we sure as hell choose how we deal with it. If I was abused then I should know how that made me feel and I can choose not to become an abuser. You always get to choose and if you are truly an adult you will take responsability for your actions and not blame it on your past.
