I love RD and his approach to Atheism and Evolution. But I don't like the idea of him being called the atheist in chief. He is a scientist first and foremost. That is where his strengths lay. I think Sam Harris is more of the average man, and fits this role much better, in that context. Both of these men are leaders of "The New Atheist Movement". Sometimes, I think they deserve equal billing on that ticket.

Don't forget Daniel Dennet, Christopher Hitchens, PZ Myers, or any of a number of others. We, as atheists, don't even have an organization, much less a chief. :)

I would say that DD is more of a fore-father of the new movement, he doesn't get the exposure he used to. Hitchens, IDK. He needs to share some of that whiskey and brandy with the rest of this movement, I know I could use a drink.

Atheist Whiskey anyone? :)

It is a shame that Dennett doesn't get the same amount of exposure as Dawkins or Hitchens, as I've found his work to be extremely intriguing and compelling. Religion: Breaking the Spell is a book I recommend highly to anyone interested in such things.

And I don't know about atheist whiskey, but there' a bottle of Glenlivet downstairs...

I have seen this book, I have not read it. If you've ever heard of TED, he has several videos there worth watching.
