I rarely get emotional about any news anymore, but occasionally something will pop out and just ruin my whole day.
Read this, and weep.
A schoolgirl has killed herself because she was desperate to be reunited with her dead father in heaven.
Maria Kislo, 12, was discovered hanging in her room by her mother Monika, 35, when she went to read her a bedtime story.
Next to the tragic youngster's body was a short note saying: 'Dear Mum. Please don't be sad. I just miss daddy so much, I want to see him again.'
Religious parents are cowards. This girl died because her spineless mother was too much of a coward to tell her the truth, and instead chose to bullshit her child about fairy tales of heaven and hell. Why is this not a crime? Why is she not being convicted of murdering her child? Why is it not considered child abuse to indoctrinate creatures who are defenseless against superstition, and will believe anything they're told? Youtube is full of videos of little children reciting the bible, and the qoran. Little children who couldn't even SPELL bible or qoran, much less understand what they're parroting. Why is this OK? Why do we not convict these people? Why do we not turn them into pariahs that everybody spits on at first sight? If I had a child, and beat it every day with a hot iron, I'd be thrown into jail. But doing the intellectual equivalent is OK? Branding a kid's brain with images of death, destruction, annihilation, murder, bloodshed, gore, pain, genocide, misogyny, bigotry, chaos and wrath is fine? This IS child abuse, no question about it.
These are horrible people, who abuse their children in ways that even the sickest of child abusers could only aspire to. Religious parenting and religious indoctrination is worse than even child rape. Some mouthwash and a few years of therapy will fix the rape, but that "God" shit is going to haunt your children for life.
Now read the comments and weep for humanity.
One comment says
I bet even though this ended tragically, the mum, thinking of her baby & husband in heaven together would bring some small comfort.
Comfort huh? Comfort. Brilliant. Maybe the mother should kill herself as well, to be reunited with them. It is unbelievable how dense these parasites are.
Joke aside, she should kill herself.
However the mother must be devastated and will likely live with some regret the rest of her life.
I sure hope so, it should be filled with torment. The girl is not with her father, she's dead and gone. She's never going to live the life she could've had, if not for the idea of Heaven. Despicable.
Even if one parent reads that story and enlightens their kid(s) a bit, maybe that little girl didn't die in vain.
Other brilliant comments:
That is the saddest thing I've ever read. RIP darling, goodnight and God bless
God bless? really? I think he has done enough.
The poor little angel was depressed. This is a double tragedy. My heart goes out to the mother and son. May Maria be with her dad and may the mom and brother find some consolation in their loss.
Be with her dad? Why don't we all just kill ourselves.
Religious logic is deadly and/or extremely painful especially for those of us that took it seriously because we had integrity and thought that parents and other adults had it also. Sadly, it is much more rare quality than most people want to admit.
The only real "hell" that exists will be and is in the mind of that mother for the rest of her life. I think that is a sufficiently harsh punishment. If this doesn't cure her of her god delusions then I don't know what could. I weep for those religiously enslaved parts of humanity and yet another innocent lost in the bottomless and cruel pit called god and faith.
If this doesn't cure her of her god delusions then I don't know what could.
I'm pretty sure this will only reinforce her Stockholm-syndrome fueled god delusion. She'll want to believe that her daughter is now in heaven with her daddy, instead of rotting in the ground because she got lied to.
The irony is, according to most versions of Xianity that I am aware of, committing suicide will send you straight to hell, not to daddy in heaven. (MInd you, according to them it's quite possible he'd actually be in hell but bereaved Xians rarely think about THAT.)
I wonder what mommy will think when that occurs to her.
We are supposed to obediently wait for Jebus to call us. Then and only then will we supposedly be reunited with our loved ones. (And all the asshats and schmucks who just happened to believe in Jesus--yes we get to deal with them for all eternity too.) Maria should have gotten her mother mad enough to murder her; then she could have taken the afterlife "up" elevator.
Well that didn't make my day hearing that, that sucks.
Religious foolishness is (and a cause of this kind of abuse) like child abuse, it repeats again and again through generations, I doubt it will ever stop.
I must say when I first read your post I thought it was a harsh and even ignorant statement. But, I apologize. After reading the story I share your anger. However, Im just curious, do we know where she rreceived her religious belief and conviction? In other words is it really all the mothers fault? Society is generally religious so arn't we responsible as well? I also couldn't help but note the mother was "coming to read a bedtime story". Hardly sounds like a bad mom. Anyone could fall victim to beliefs indoctrinated when you were a child. Any of us who ever believed could understand that. So enclosing, I agree to be angry and do something about it by educating and getting involved but reserve judgement. She has enough pain to deal with.
No it's not really the mother's fault but, to tell the kid a religious fantasy that is not much better than the Muslims blowing themselves up on their belief that the afterlife is better. Transmitting that fantasy from generation to generation is still a lie that some people, kids esp. will sometimes believe is real, even if the mother knows that is was an attempt to sooth the child, it backfired.
