The more religious my mother and sister have become, the less I am able to talk to them. I can't even seem to make small talk on email about the latest mundane things happening in my life any more. I feel bad about it but I am who I am.

I just told her she can find me on facebook but she won't like many of the things I write about. I think that's about all I can give at this point.

It's my issue really. They both found god in the last decade or so and have become more and more into it since. I struggle with talking to them knowing that there was a time they were more rational.

Neither of them send me anything religious. We had that conversation early on.
Scott, I have no relationship with my mother, either. She is a born again Christian (now a non-practicing born again Christian, if you've ever heard of such a thing!)

Sometimes you just have to let your parents grow up and deal with your atheism.
I have met non-practicing born-again Christians. But I'm in the South...
It's like a lazy layer of hypocrisy or something.
I know what you mean. Sense I came out and told my sister she won't talk to me or my daughter. She became a recent convert to Mormon .
