Realization! How Your Toilet Can Teach Your Kids, As It Taught Me.

If you want your children to grow up with the concept of skepticism and a love of science, place Popular Science and Popular Mechanics magazines next to the toilet. Kids will read them since there's nothing else to do on the toilet. Also, Uncle John's Bathroom Reader. Random trivia is great for developing inquisitive minds. Perhaps that's why my brothers and I are all atheist despite being raised Catholic... :P

Anyone able to back me up on this one?

Funny.... my mom used to put Guideposts by the toilet.  Yet, I still grew up to be an atheist (despite my Catholic upbringing).

I bet my biology teacher dad is pissed he taught me to think critically and scientifically when it turned me into an atheist....

I'm wondering that myself.  My dad always liked to brag about how he 'taught [me] to think for [my]self.'  ..snicker.
Good Idea(:
Love it.  Most of my bathroom reading as a kid was Calvin and Hobbes.

Lol.  If you have to put this much effort into scheming about how to sneak your values into your kid's brain...it begins to sound like a religious person trying to make sure their kids don't grow up to stray from the religion.  Just saying...

I have 2 Uncle John bathroom readers in my bathroom. lol

They were given to me by my father, who when I asked what religion we were, said, "You're a good Christian for all the good things you've done for your family."  Apparently he hasn't read the part where you have to accept JC as your lord and savior.
