Senate candidate Richard Mourdock, an Indiana Republican, turned a few heads and dropped a few jaws on Tuesday night when he said that pregnancies resulting from rape were "something that God intended to happen." The complete article can be readhere.
If one accepts that logic, then just as Jesus came to give man eternal life, rapists come to bestow the "gift" of pregnancy on the women they rape.
Is there something wrong with my logic?
What is it about the GOP that almost all weird pronouncements about women, pregnancy, rape, and so forth come from members of that party?
Mourdock, Akin and more than half of the other senate GOP contenders follow the same thought processes. I don't know how they think they can survive politically without women's votes. Regardless of their survival, I don't know how half the population of the U.S. can follow the poor logic path, generated initially by the religious right. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/25/richard-mourdock-abortion_...
