Poor Planning on God's Part?
I have a thought that I would like for ThinkAtheist members to consider. In the 21st century we now have video and camera technology, internet, email, youtube, and all the other higher communication capabilities. If God was going to send his only begotten son to die for our sins and he clearly wants everyone in the world to know about it, would it not have made more sense to send his son during today's time instead of during a time where the predominant communication capability was oral and handwritten and therefore prone to error? Surely he could have waited for a time where his son's message would have reached a lot more people with less distortion and doubt. Do you think this is valid argument to use against Christians? I am not sure if this idea has been mentioned before.

This is proof that gods do not exist, i agree with April..god would simply embed knowledge of him/herself in all humans when they are born.
why does a god need a human or technology to express themselves?
Why are children born without the knowledge of any gods?
It is only through the teaching of their parents, schools and places of worship that they learn about their particular religion. Also alot depends where u are born...i.e. if you were born in Pakistan chances are you will become a Muslim..in the USA a christian etc.. nothing gets automatically inserted into our brains that we should follow any particular religion..
why is that? simple..there is no god!

I have been 'told' by certain Christians that nobody will sin in Heaven because the Love of God is so great - There would be no need for anything else.
Talk about making shit up to defend the flaws - Then saying you can't 'Know the mind of God' anytime something comes up that is contradictory to their views.

It has been mentioned before in my mind.
A plausible explanation would be that either god wants to test us ( punishing us for thinking clearly ), or he simply does not exist. Most atheist became so by answering the questions: 'Where does my religion come from?' and 'What consists my religion?'
If god exists, he is incompetent, barbaric, and anti-reason, for various reasons.

Faith = complete trust or confidence in someone or something in spite the fact it does not work
You lack it.
You should try just trust. When something works, that reinforces your trust. Trust is more preciser than faith. Trust what works. Doubt what does not.

To be honest I too prayed to Yahweh asking for a sign of his existence and of course there was no answer. I didn't just immediately leave my religion but I gave my imaginary friend a chance to communicate with me and save my soul.

Remember religion is not about making sense of the world but about making nonsense. All religions have their own messiah whether it be Jesbus, Alladumb etc. Faith is all that matters to faith heads they don't use their logical side of the brain and they tend not think before believing.

We like our fairy tales. It is easier to have someone else make all the big decisions. Then you don't have to think about the world.
If you are hungry it is your fault because if you prayed hard enough you would be fed. When prayer doesn't work you are being tested or punished.
If you don't have faith it is your own fault because you don't believe enough. The government, the monarchy, the corporations getting you down? You don't have enough prayer or faith. Endure, pray, accept your lot.
A messiah is a way of avoiding responsiblity for yourself and accepting what the ruling class does to you. Wonderful venue for dictators.
And when people tell you all the good things God has done like sunsets and trees and whatever, remind them of nature and logic which takes nothing away from beauty and just makes it even more wonderous.
