Please read!
I just wanted to see if having the phrase, "please read," actually works. I've seen several posts with that phrase or a variant of it. It kinda bothers me. If people want to read what you've written, they will. I like to think most of us are smart/clever enough to come up with an attention-grabbing title. And even if you're not, just simply say what your topic is. No need to beg us nicely to read it.
Unless of course it really works. Then I'll shut up about it. :)

I ought to write a book with that title if it turns out that it works. It may be pathetic to beg people to read my book, but at least I'll get rich.

It only works if it is in all caps. And abbreviated to the point of stupidity.
