Arguments, that convince you, strong atheism is true. If you are not a strong atheist, but a weak one, don't argue with this question. its not for you. Its for the ones, that positively assert, most probably God does not exist. Please don't base it on a negative ( the bible is worthless etc....), but positive arguments, which do make strong atheism stand on its own right.

Permalink Reply by Angelo on December 27, 2011 at 7:36pm So Angelo, answer me this. Why do you want there to be a God?
Why don't you want to be one ? afraid he can send you to hell because of your sins ?
Permalink Reply by Unseen on December 27, 2011 at 10:32pm Being a god would be depressing. First off, if you're a monotheistic God, no one on your level to talk to. Secondly, if you're omniscient, your life would lack pleasant surprises. If you're omnipotent, no physical challenges, either.
BORING!
Hence, the God Is Dead school, one faction of which felt that God created the world then committed suicide.
Permalink Reply by Angelo on December 27, 2011 at 10:34pm you cannot comprehend Gods mind to know , how he lives and feels and thinks.
Permalink Reply by Unseen on December 27, 2011 at 10:37pm Oh, but I can. He's a "theistic" God, and he modeled us in his image (on himself, in other words), right?

Permalink Reply by Artor on January 4, 2012 at 3:50am Yet you insist that you know god's mind and how he feels & thinks. You must be pretty special. Would you like a gold star?

Sure. is it 18 karat ?
Permalink Reply by Unseen on December 27, 2011 at 5:57pm There really is no possibility of a "proof" of God's nonexistence, unless your definition of God involves an internal logical contradiction. Thus, I can prove He doesn't exist if He is defined as being a spherical cube.
Most of us, if not all of us, are sure of God's nonexistence based on the absence of evidence and the inadequacy and illogicality of the arguments presented on His behalf.
But that's soft atheism.
This is why being an atheist and being an agnostic at the same time is possible.
Permalink Reply by Angelo on December 27, 2011 at 7:41pm the best to present a strong standpoint of strong atheis, is if you are able to present a highly plausible scenario , where God is not required for our existence, and the existence of our universe. Where our universe is self existent.....
Permalink Reply by Rob Lippmann on December 27, 2011 at 9:05pm Why is a self existing universe more implausible than a universe created by a self existing Creator? Surely Occam's Razor favors the former?
Permalink Reply by erik112358 on December 27, 2011 at 10:04pm Occam's Razor is BS in the realm of modern physics. Take a look at a quantum mechanics or string theory book and tell me Occam was consulted before publishing it. We've been reaching past our intuition as a species for a while now. Well, some of us anyway.
