Arguments, that convince you, strong atheism is true. If you are not a strong atheist, but a weak one, don't argue with this question. its not for you. Its for the ones, that positively assert, most probably God does not exist. Please don't base it on a negative ( the bible is worthless etc....), but positive arguments, which do make strong atheism stand on its own right.

Permalink Reply by Rob Klaers on December 28, 2011 at 4:22am Angelo.. better yet.. How about you show how God is required for our existence? Show us in verifiable terns, In ways that can be repeated over and over with the same results..
Permalink Reply by Angelo on December 28, 2011 at 6:29am that question has been answered over and over. But that is not the topic of this thread. It seems you have a hard time to answer my question ?
Permalink Reply by Teri G on December 28, 2011 at 8:53am It seems you have a hard time answering ANY of ours. You seem to enjoy deflecting the difficult questions back and only answer the one's you think you can find faults in.
And about your above question about showing how god is not required for our existence, if you know anything from any science books dating back to the 1800's and onwards, you would see how god has become irrelevant in the explanation of the universe (including the explanation of our existence).
Permalink Reply by Rob Klaers on December 28, 2011 at 1:17pm Actually, the question hasn't been answered.. You have not shown in anyway which is verifiable that God is required for our existence. There are no 'signatures', other than the ones your presume to be from God.There's flat out no evidence of his existence other than your faith and faith isn't evidence.
I have no difficulty with the question of the thread. Especially since it's really a bogus question to begin with. You come in here asking us to provide evidence to disprove the God of your faith. That's like me coming to another site and saying ..I believe in unicorns now give me evidence they don't exist. Again the onus is on you- as it's always been- to provide evidence of his existence. As it would be for me to provide evidence of the unicorns I believed in. The fact of the matter is.. you can't in a way that doesn't require faith and that's where you fail. Even that link you provided earlier about a 'signature' required faith to believe in. It's no evidence of anything other than faith in a unproven supernatural being. You want to convince Atheists that god exists? ... Then provide substantial, verifiable, repeatable proof.
We're waiting......................

And you don't think either, our universe did need a cause, i guess. So could you explain, how it possibly could be self-caused, or eternal ?
Permalink Reply by James on January 2, 2012 at 8:00pm Angelo, as has been explained to you a few times already... an alternative claim isn't needed to disbelieve a claim. If one does have an alternative claim, that is one way to prove that the initial claim isn't the only possibility, and once tested may prove the initial claim incorrect. But if the initial claim is itself lacking, or has a body of information against it, it is completely understandable to stamp it as failed without the need of proposing an alternative. If someone said that you can build a DVD player by planting a DVD in the garden, I can understandably call bollox without having to then prove that I can make a DVD player. It's the same with the religious claims we here again and again. People claim a god to explain things. But the trouble is that the claims actually end up posing more questions, don't make scene, or have a body of data against then that falsifies them.

Permalink Reply by Angelo on January 2, 2012 at 7:33pm I have no proofs. Sorry. what evidence do you have to show, he is not needed ?
Permalink Reply by Kir Komrik on January 7, 2012 at 5:34pm Hey Angelo,
how about simply show, why God is not required for our existence ?
Okay, define "god" first.

Permalink Reply by erik112358 on December 27, 2011 at 8:50am So to finally take a first-hand part in this discussion (as I am painfully bored at the moment), I will start off with my own argument, which in addition to many classic strong atheist arguments, makes me very comfortable in thinking there is no god. I have fully typed up this argument before, so instead of copying/pasting, I'll post it in a blog, and link to it here.
