Arguments, that convince you, strong atheism is true. If you are not a strong atheist, but a weak one, don't argue with this question. its not for you. Its for the ones, that positively assert, most probably God does not exist. Please don't base it on a negative ( the bible is worthless etc....), but positive arguments, which do make strong atheism stand on its own right.

a chance of 10 to 10^170 equals no chance life to come into existence randomly.
And where does that quantity come from? I'm not sure what you meant to say there.

Since when has absolutely nothing potentialities ?
Permalink Reply by Kyle Wilkins on January 2, 2012 at 10:44pm So after reading this 17 page long thread I have come to several conclusions here.
Angelo is 'trolling' on this website. He isn't here to get an exact answer from his vague question. What is going on here is if one of us was to go onto a religious forums site and pose a question aiming at people's pride, that is why he called out "Strong Atheists", and trying to draw out everyone and hand pick which arguments he thinks he can answer and does so, while avoiding everyone else.
Calling US out to answer any questions on why Atheism is our personal CHOICE and saying we cannot use the bible and other religious texts to help us answer your question is like us saying you cannot refer to any correct scientific resources to help you support your case as a "Strong Theist".
A lot of Angelo's sources he points out are faith based. Let's start out with a nice example. If someone is a creationist he will refer to the bible as a legitimate source. That's what Angelo has done here with several of his sources being "faith based science". Words are easily twisted to fit any way they want.
The huge thing I found ironic is that no matter how small our chances are to come to how we've been with Carbon based ect... It happened. We're here how we are. Science and Atheism can comfortably say we don't know, but here is what we think and the evidence we have supporting it. You, Angelo, are simply replacing "I don't know" with "god".
Angelo I have attached a few link's you may be interested in joining to discuss your beliefs, but it does look trashy bringing ignorance and the mindset to make us look foolish into an Atheist forum seeing as how we are all here to get away from it. Just a warning though ignorance isn't good regardless of creed.

Quote me with whatever I will not show you the respect of answering any questions you pose to me about my statements because you did not respect my fellow Atheists when a serious question was posed to you. This topic should be deleted.

Oh so that's why he didn't respond to me?
Permalink Reply by Heather Spoonheim on January 2, 2012 at 11:15pm So, Angelo,
I've already proven that your own ignorance is not proof of a general absence of knowledge, and given several epistemologically well founded arguments against the existence of invisible boogiemen in general, but you seem reticent to reveal to us the specific nature of your ridiculous beliefs in this invisible boogieman who likes to kill himself and watch you masturbate. Why don't you at least tell us what flavour of god-delusion you have so we can riddle it with the holes that you have failed to deliver to our evidentiary based beliefs? C'mon, of what are you afraid? That we'll all laugh ourselves into hysteria over the fool you've made of yourself by allowing a Bronze Age death cult to indoctrinate you?
Permalink Reply by Angelo on January 3, 2012 at 6:30am how about leaving your rants aside, and back up your assertion, abiogenesis has been proved true ? could you point out in the article, you linked, where it says so ?

Abiogenesis explained in ten minutes....
If you can't understand the scientific terminology of this video, I recommend referring to a 9th grade biology textbook and a 10th grade chemistry textbook.
Permalink Reply by Albert Bakker on January 3, 2012 at 1:55pm That's a very nice succinct little video. Adding further: http://exploringorigins.org/
Permalink Reply by Angelo on January 3, 2012 at 3:27pm I have not asked you to post a youtube video, but based on the article you posted, to point out, how you deduce abiogenesis has been proven true ?
Permalink Reply by Heather Spoonheim on January 3, 2012 at 4:47pm A plausible mechanism under early earth environmental conditions has been found. There may be others that can be found, but all it takes is one to prove it was possible. Deal closed, your invisible boogiemen do not exist -> all you have left is your ignorance.
Permalink Reply by Angelo on January 3, 2012 at 5:17pm A plausible mechanism under early earth environmental conditions has been found.
Despite that a " plausible mechanism " in my books does not mean, that is hard evidential proof : what mechanism would that be ?
Permalink Reply by Heather Spoonheim on January 3, 2012 at 5:28pm I've already linked the article -> and it clearly shows that abiogenesis is not only plausible, but actually simple enough to be understood by human intellect (not including you, apparently).
So, you see, your invisible boogieman doesn't exist. Time for you to give up the cult doctrines and start reading something modern rather than your Bronze Age cult texts. Religion is dead, proven impossible, and the truth of natural origins is being cemented into human understanding piece by piece.
