Personally, depending on the crime, I think some people are over-sentenced and some are SEVERELY under-sentenced. Take animal killers for instance. Many times people toture and kill numerous amounts of innocent animals and they only receive probation (Very Violent Crime). Then, someone that participates in safe-cracking can receive 15-25 yrs in a maximum securtiy prison (non-violent crime, in my opinion).
As tax payers, we know that the room and board for each inmate comes out of our pockets. There are several people with life sentences that continue to be vicious and reak havoc within the prison walls. Should these problem causing inmates be re-sentenced to lethal injection, or should we continue to support them until they die naturally or another inmate kills them?
Psychologically, does being "locked up" cause more harm than good to the inmates that will be released back into society? Take into consideration the ones that were placed in max. security facilities with inmates serving life sentences.

People just like to feel better about themselves and they say killing an animal for food it's not bad.
Respect for the animal, come on... What is that?

Do you have a problem with someone killing another human being but eating it instead of just letting the body rot? What if an animal kills a human for food? If you do have a problem with it, what changes from before? Just the victim. Are we playing by the jungle law? Survival of the fittest? Shouldn't we, the rational ones, make better calls when it comes to killing other creatures? How fair is it to go with a big fat gun and start shooting animals?
I do not do this. I have never shot or killed an animal, but other people do it daily. Some hungry animals have and will kill people and eat them. It's just the food chain I guess. Nothing I can do about it.
If you have issues with hunters, go after them. I am not a hunter and I never will be.
