Q stands for "questioning." ^_^ It's okay... someone added an "I" to it once, and I still don't know what that means.

A "questioning" person is still discovering their identity and is unsure whether they are gay or bi or straight or what not.

Adriana... Obama promised during his campaign to remove Don't ask, don't tell... and according to the NY times article, his administration is already working on that. I definitely think that this kind of thing takes a lot of patience. Overturning years of prejudice takes time [decades]. For african americans and women it has certainly taken that long... and the fight is never over.

I'm glad to see this. When I was an officer in the army I always thought "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was the dumbest thing to come out of Washington. When bullets are flying I don't give a shit what sexual orientation a person is...just like I don't give a shit what plumbing the person has between their legs. What matters is what is between their ears.

Never been in the military, but RAMEN!!!
I don't understand why people seem to have no problem with straight women and men serving together and gays and lesbians should not. But then again, whoever said bigotry was rational? It basically never is. I came to the conclusion by the time I was 7 years old that racism [in the idea of people hating someone because their skin is a different color] was the dumbest thing I had ever heard of. I may have been a child, but I had the intelligence to think.... "if you don't like him because he's got dark skin, then are you not going to like me because I have dark hair?"

Technically it is LGBTQI, but a lot of times people will leave out the Q, so mostly it's LGBTI. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, transgender, Queer, Intersex....Yea, in my courses on this topic teach the Q as Queer instead of Questioning. Also, Transgender refers to men or women that feel that they have been born into the wrong gender where as intersex refers to a person whose anatomy is not the typical male or female.

I am a free spirit, not as in 'holy ghost'. WHy on earth do we need people in power saying whether things are right or not. WHere are my human rights as an atheist. We are equal human beings . I do not judge. WHy are people so interested in how others live their lives, it is not our business. I donot believe in the Bible but what about throwing the first stone.
