North Carolina to bar elected official due to his beliefs

I was amazed to read this, as I didn't realize that my state still had laws like this. I am glad that they are deciding to fight this, but requiring a majority vote here to change the law, will be a very tough fight.

Yeah, there are a few states left that have this in their constitution, despite the Supreme Court having declared such laws unconstitutional decades ago.

there's already been a Supreme Court ruling declaring these laws unconstitutional. the only reason why they're still on the books in some states is because they haven't been challenged in court in the individual states that still have them on the books (i think it's 8 states still that have them).

I would happily move to every state with it still on the books...run for office and then challenge it in court.
Now if I just had money to survive on while doing so.........
