All the sites I've come across are either far too basic, or way too in-depth. I need something in between, to help me get to the next level of understanding. There's a physics forum that I'm dying to jump into, but pretty much everything talked about there is waaaaay over my head. Does anyone have any sites/books/whatever?

I will look into those! Thank you. :D
Krauss is awesome, possibly the best physicist alive in my opinion. Kudos for landing the interview I will be tuning in for sure. Love his Universe From Nothing.

This post reminds me of Friday's XKCD comic. Physics is a pain in the ass and for that reason is always going to be either incredibly dumbed down or insanely over your head mathematics. If you want a better understanding I suggest auditing some physics courses from a local university.

You have a point. I don't really find it to be a pain in the ass, but hey. I just got done with school, and have to find a job now. I've got to find a way to keep up with physics without going back to school, just for the time being. At some point, I plan on going back to get my masters in physics (loooong story), so... this is mostly to keep myself entertained until then.
What topics? I could recommend a bunch of good particle physics/quantum books.
I'm pretty interested in in both particle and quantum physics! Recommend away! :D
I could give better recommendations in a few days. I'll be back home then and can actually look at the books I have. But definitely check out sciambookclub.com. That's where I get most of my physics books and they have books on everything there. They always have sales so I normally get about 4 books for $50ish once in a while. Free shipping over $50.

Some of it can be a bit over your head.  Especially when they're talking about specific ideas and current research.  Overall though, Sean Carroll is a riot when he writes about social and political issues (plus he's a devout atheist).
