Nipples/breasts? Why so Taboo?
This is not me.
It is a simple question. Why are nipples/breasts so taboo? I want your opinion. Guys with their shirt off it is okay, but a girl, "OMG DON'T LOOK KIDS! NIPPLES!!! YOU SHOULD BE ashamed OF YOURSELF!" Keep in mind a lot of men have bigger breasts than most women!
Also, is this picture not as taboo in your mind because the nipples have been erased? Finally, while we are on it. Why can we have nipples of african tribes on public TV but not other races? Why the divide?
I know these sounds like silly questions, but I want some rational discussion over this topic.

Because an erection is a direct result of sexual activity and desires. A man thinks dirty thoughts, there's a physical reaction. Nipples are nipples, they will always be there and really hold no real sexual context except for the ones we apply due to sociatal rule.

Yes, sexual stimuli can cause nipples to get hard, but that's not the only cause of nipples to harden. A male's erection only occurs in two ways, sexual stimuli has been presented or he is just really relaxed. I have never ever heard of someone one getting a hard on thinking about making his spouse dinner unless there is a desired activity afterwards. A male's physical arrousal only serves one purpose, and that is to have sex, nipples have multiple.

I think this taboo is a cultural thing
of US Americans. Based on the
strong relligious influnence in the
USA.
In Europe where I life Nipels are
not such a big topic.
Everyone who likes may bath in
a public lake toples ore
breast feed theire babys.
(well it would be considered as
unpolite to stare at naked peopel but
to to show nipples/ ore breasts on TV
is not a problem).

The failure of people to really look into a situation and see it is no big deal is, sadly, all too common. Society needs to change first. Always wondered why people really cared, no good answer was given. If women must be clothed then fat men should need bras and tops. *Cringe* at the sight of a fat sweaty dude

I think we have a tendency to make anything obviously functionally sexual taboo as we moved from H/G and tribes to Ag states. As women lost their economic equality they were given status in new, albeit silly and subservient ways, like chivalry and modesty. Their sexuality became their only real power and breasts are a symbol of both.
I believe that this was a phase and will probably go by the wayside, eventually. Breasts are nice, after all, but nowhere near as erotic and lovely as a bare belly...erm.. wrote too much. Anyway, that is my take, for what it is worth.
