Our cluster of galaxies, the milky way, our solar system, the earth, our hemisphere, our country, our state, our county/parish/region/city/town/village...etc. and timeline we witness in the average human lifespan is so insignificantly miniscule. Throughout the course of human history there have been many upon many gods. What would make one group (religion) today think they are so right? By the books they read? The preachers who preach a history that might or might not be true?

If one man is willing to blow himself up for the dedication to his god, should I not believe him more than you who has to muster the motivation to go to church once a week, month or even year?

Could you be like that child who plugs his ears making la la la sounds while saying "I can't hear you I can't hear you." To be so blinded by the fact that your particular religious group is claiming no different than any other religious group speaking in the same manner, claiming the same evidence?

But yet most humans countinue to do just that; hiding away in their own private corner of their world, with their eyes and minds shut off from anything outside of their own little security blanket.

Are you praying to the god you KNOW FOR 100% FACT EXISTS????? Or are you just praying that you might have the right answer?  Because let's face it.  If you are claiming 1 religion, 1 god, out of the whole big picture is the CORRECT one, the chances of you, a human being, being right are very, very small indeed.

Awesome post! Looks like you did a good job of bringing up a smart son. :)
BOO-YA!!!!!! You've done well :)

That's great!  How old is your son?

Nice!  At least one child in this world will be brought up right.

"Christianity is the only one who's God was raised from the dead. Proof is He LITERALLY speaks to this lowly one saved by His grace. Yes He speaks to me in an audible voice. Not always. Most of the time its just an impression. A holy hunch. Every time I have needed wisdom He has answered me. So the only true "belief" to me will always be Jesus. And what He means to my eternity. Is it necessary to literally hear God to be saved? No. But for the most part those religions who say God does not speak are very harsh and put burdens on others they themselves cannot carry. The Holy Spirit of Jesus is very gentle. You don't hear Jesus? Stop being double-minded. Believe in Him 100 percent and you WILL hear Him. The God who made the mouth speaks. The God who made the hands touches. The God who made the ears hears. Call out to Him. How? Romans 10: 8 -10."
My son's response to that:

But Dan, do you understand that other people of other faiths will say the exact same thing with the exact same convictions? They believe in their god just as much as you believe in your god. I cannot say you're wrong as I have absolutely no proof. Just as well, I cannot say you're right.
Dan's reply:

No. God does not speak in the other religions. It is impossible. He WILL NOT speak to a Muslim, because Muslims deny Jesus is the Son of God. They call Him a prophet 'below' Mohommad. He will not speak to a Mormon, because the Mormon place themselves on the same level with God as the Lord Jesus Christ. The Mormons preach a different Gospel that Jesus or the Apostles preached. God will not speak to a Catholic! Why do you think Catholics have to have a Vicar? Because God does not speak to the Catholics. And why do you think people depend SO MUCH on preachers or other church leaders? The Apostles taught that God spoke to His people through the Holy Spirit of Christ. God will speak to each individual if they come to Him by faith through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Predictably, he start spewing bible verses:

The Lord Jesus said, The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil." John 7:7 Any time the Bible "eth" is added at the end of a word it means "will continue". So the Lord Jesus said, "The world cannot hate you; but me it will continue to hate, because I testify of it, the the works thereof are evil."
All the myths you point out are pretty gods, to flatter the eyes of the unbelieving. When Jesus started His ministry He wasn't much to look at. If you would have passed Him on any road nothing about His physical appearance would have struck you as god-like. And yet He was and is God. The Roman empire covered a large portion of the known earth and Israel was an insignificant part. And Jesus was born in the most insignificant of its cities. And He lived in that vast Roman empire, living unknown to any as to who He really was, up to His baptism in the Jordan River.
Mat 3:13 Then Jesus arrived from Galilee at the Jordan coming to John, to be baptized by him.
Mat 3:14 But John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?"
Mat 3:15 But Jesus answering said to him, "Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he permitted Him.
Mat 3:16 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him,
Mat 3:17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased."
Born again Christians are thankful that God through Christ is well-pleased with us who believe.
Read Proverbs 1. Another prophesy. It says one day, if you continue in unbelief you will seek Him with all your heart. But then it will be too late.
My son replies:

Then Dan, I'll take it from your quotes of the Bible, you do not see that others claim nearly the same thing, with the same "proof", in the same tone....?
Then I jumped in and said:

Because ________ says in it's holy scripture that it's true and real and the Only One, then it must be true and real and the Only One. Because it says it is. You can insert "God, Jesus, Allah, Buddha, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster" and the result is the same.
This is awesome. I love these Facebook debates! keep it coming! I'm following closely even if I don't say anything.
