What are your favorite songs, albums, or musicians in general with anti-religious messages?

Some of my favorites include "Glory Hallelujah" by Frank Turner and the entire  new Quiet Company album "We Are All Where We Belong."

If you disagree with me or if you have a contribution/suggestion, post below!

I'm really looking for some new music powered by freethought! Thanks!

Here are my recommendations, and just a song of each of them, though they have many more with anti-religious message, especially the first band:

Punk - Bad Religion (God Song)

Indusrial - Nine Inch Nails (Heresy)

Progressive Metal - Tool (Opiate), Karnivool (Set Fire To The Hive)

Progressive Rock - Dredg (I Don't Know), Porcupine Tree(Last Chance To Evacuate Planet Earth Before It Is Recycled)

"God Said" - Anthony David

"Sure As Hell Not Jesus" - Cosmo Jarvis

"Underwater" - Eat More Cake

Electric Six also occasionally has atheistic themes in their songs, I've noticed. ("All your rituals and superstitions -- don't you find them kind of odd? Might as well kneel before Zod!" in "Rip It!" for example)

The Humanist has a great interview with Taylor Muse about the new Quiet Company album and humanism, by the way!

Hey thanks for telling me about that interview! I really enjoyed it and I've been listening to to We are all where we belong constantly for several weeks now!

No problem! Same here -- it's definitely one of my all time favorite albums. (And I've got PZ Meyers to thank for my being a QC fan, haha)

Dear God-XTC  hands down favorite.  It started me on my path to mental freedom.

"Crystal Mountain" by death metal band Death

Dream Theater - In The Name of God, Psyclon Nine - INRI, Bryan Steeksma - Listen to Reason, Godsmack - Bad Religion, and Otep - Noose & Nail.

Incidentally, the reason you see Tool and APC mentioned a few times on here is that the lead singer and lyricist for both bands is Maynard James Keenan, who is definitely an atheist.

And if you're into Prog. Metal, Tool is fantastic; if you want a slightly more rock feel to your Prog. Metal, then APC would be up your alley.

NIN (Nine Inch Nails) is really just Trent Reznor. Besides being a musical genius, he's also an advocate of dumping the large record companies and selling DRM-free music. Most of all, he is an outspoken atheist, and many, many of their/his songs reflect this. Reznor is one of the main influences on Industrial, and has influenced many bands including Marylin Manson - who is also an outspoken atheist.

Hey, for those of you who are into German industrial and metal, doesn't Rammstein have a bunch of anti-religious songs? For some reason I thought so...

Yehh Greydon Square! my Fave

Universal by OMD. Great atheist lyrics in this one.
