but everything unfolds according to god's plan...
surely then he meant for the disaster to take place. surely he means for the disaster to continue unabated at the present time. dare they challenge the will of GAWD???

I needed a laugh today. As you know god has put a spell on our World Cup England team.
He seems to create disasters for the fun of it.
I suppose he has got bored with facebook, and needed some fun.....

Seriously, what the fuck is it with the praying? If I was trying to run a universe, the last thing I'd need would be some nobody from a rock in the periphery of a utterly insignifigant galaxy pestering me with stupid demands to change my great plan for all of creation.

Yeah, I have trouble buying that. I tend more towards the Lovecraftian view - if there is some divine thing out there, we better hope he/she/it/argllbralgh doesn't notice us.

I just hope the prayers aren't hastening the coming of Cthulhu.

It's completely reasonable to expect that God will stop it. He's stopped all of the other Natural Disasters that he has caused before.

I actually just got back from a Catholic youth conference in Louisiana. (I didn't have a choice) It really amazed me that they prayed for help with the oil spill. We were seriously about 15 minutes away from the coast and there was 2000 people there. Surely, we could've actually done something to help out.
