In Austin, there is a group called Atheists Helping the Homeless that does care packages for homeless folks around here.  I think that they generally do care packages (toothpaste, soap, clean socks), but they might be able to give you a better idea of what non-religious charities are in the Dallas area.

Goodwill is secular, and I believe they have locations all over the nation.  You should be able to find one in your area.

As another atheist, I think giving clothes to religious charities, can be considered 'OK'. This might be one case where the 'right thing' is still possible..
