   I had never given this idea any thought.  But it is intriguing.  Logically, I would have to say that there should be an inverse correlation between religious faith and longevity.  Certainly, the fear of death is at the core of all religious belief.  So, the closer one gets to believing he or she will never die, the less necessary religion will become. Makes sense to me.

Being that religions strongest ally is the fear of death... I see a definite correlation between the two.

Lets look at the extreme. We may (even in our lifetime) have the capability of living forever. We may learn to outlive our bodies. In which case what is the point of an afterlife?
