Introduction

Hey all, just joined the site and thought I would post an introduction.

I am a 31 year old mother, student, teacher, and child activist. I grew up in a very conservative christian home, joined a cult when I was 18, was married to an emotionally abusive man for 6 years and lived to tell about it all!

3 years ago began my journey out of bondange when I let go of the fear that had me bound to religious teachings. I stripped my spirituality down to "I have no effing idea" and began to soak up all the truth seeking I could manage! I am so greatful for the people that have come into my life that have shown me rationality and critical thinking as those have been my lifelines!

I am here because I am still closeted about my new ways of thinking when it comes to most people that knew me "before" I have slowly been introducing the emerging me and am being met with some ridiculous reactions. I need connections with like minded, critically thinking, truth loving individuals.

one of the reasons why i enjoy being around TA so much is the sheer courage i'm made aware of in the world.

Welcome to T/A :)

Only a few people outside of T/A know that I am an atheist. Little by little I test the waters with brief (but smart) replies and statements in facebook and public to see if they can tell.

I know when I fully disclose it that change everything. So my hat is off to anyone who has the courage to reveal their real selves to the world.
