There are international standards of weights and measures, even for the passage of time.

The gold standard for a moral, eternally abiding life now sits and the right hand of his Father.

Diametrically opposed is the man of Sin, our natural proclivity and the spirit working in our minds and members. We sin as naturally and freely as water cascading down a water fall.

Our mouths, swear, our minds envy, covet and indulge in vilest most despicable imaginings.

We are bitter, abusive, hateful,  coldhearted, murders, whisperers, callous, without natural affection, haughty, high minded, quick to anger, insufferable lot. Deserving all of the natural catastrophes that beset us, including AIDS, tsunamis, hurricanes and tornadoes. As AIDS spreads rapidly around the earth it becomes evident that everybody is sleeping with everyone across the whole planet. A sure marker of the moral turpitude that besets the earth.

But a standard was born. Eat his flesh, drink his blood and let him abode in your mind and members that you may abide forever.

@Akshay - Yes it won't be the first time that many have been fooled by a 'mysterious event'.  For the Daily News Egypt account see:

the daily news egypt

Yes there were scientific studies launched by the Egyptian government between 1969 and 1970. Many theories posed, no explanation however satisfied all the facts. The most plausibe explanation was ball lightening.

The lack of a satisfactory scientific explanation doesn't imply the supernatural.

We humans have a tendency to see patterns, faces & shapes when none exist. If you look objectively, then its nothing more than flases of light.

Estimates of the number of observers of the event vary greatly. Thousands were said to have flocked to the Church after the first announced occurrences of the phenomenon. Some claim the apparitions were seen by millions. Other sources estimate the figure at around 250,000 in total. Cynthia Nelson [4] was a professor of anthropology at AUC (American University in Cairo) and the founding director of the Institute of Gender and Women's Studies. She visited the church site on several occasions including April 15, 1968, another week later near the end of April and on June 1, 1968. Despite the accounts of ongoing, if irregular, visitations by the Marian apparition, Cynthia Nelson documents seeing nothing other than a few 'intermittent flashes of light'.[5]

Cynthia Nelson and others [6] have put the Mary apparition in its context. The appearances came at a period of crisis in Egyptian history.

Sociologists Robert Bartholomew and Erich Goode offer the Zeitoun apparitions as a prominent case of mass delusion:

“It appears that the Marian observers were predisposed by religious background and social expectation to interpreting the light displays as related to the Virgin Mary.”[7

In the past things like rain, thunder, lightning, storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions were considered acts of god. Now we know the real reasons behind them. So I'll say again, lack of a scientific explanation doesn't imply the supernatural.

To your point, I am not suggesting that this an actual Marian Visitation. I believe it is a spiritual deception. I am offering it as evidence of what the Apostle Paul speaks of. "the principalities and powers of the air" and the spirit of antiChrist working wonders. Moreover new evidence has arisen based on processing of the images. But the irony is that if the phenomena is fake, it is complete falsifiable. If it is truly spiritual it is completely unfalsifiable and remain relegated to the scientifically unexplained.

I'm making no snap judgments. At the 4.31 mark of that video, the light goes out and clearly originates from a high window behind the church. I'm sure this technology was also available in 1969.

Jewelz just view the documentaries on Youtube and we are going to reconvene the discussion. no need to come to snap judgement at this time. Peace

Just view this image of the light going out from a structure behind the church at the 4.31 mark. I cropped it for you since you didn't acknowledge it the first time. No reason to continue believing this hoax, but you will because you want to.

Read about this event and also Zeitoun Coptic Church in 1969, If the explanation was as simple as that, the scientific investigators hired by the Egyptian Government would have written if off a long time ago. And what scientific credentials do you have and how much of the case history have your read in total so far about both events.

Here is a start there are many sites and books

Our Lady of Zeitoun, Also known simply as El-Zeitoun, Zeitun or rarely Our Lady of Light, was a mass Marian apparition that occurred in the Zeitoun district of Cairo, Egypt, over a period of 2-3 years beginning on April 2, 1968. Reported to have been seen by millions.

According to eye witnesses, the Virgin Mary appeared in different forms over the Coptic Orthodox Church of Saint Mary at Zeitoun for a period of 2-3 years beginning on April 2, 1968. The apparitions lasted from a few minutes up to several hours and were sometimes accompanied by dove-shaped luminous bodies. They were seen by millions of Egyptians and foreigners, including Copts, Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, Jews and people of no particular faith. The sick and blind are said to have been cured, and many people converted to Christianity as a result.

The Pope of Alexandria Kyrillos VI appointed a committee of high-ranking priests and bishops to investigate the matter, headed by Bishop Gregorios, bishop of postgraduate studies, Coptic culture and scientific research. On May 4 the Coptic Orthodox Pope of Alexandria in Cairo issued an official statement confirming the apparitions. They were also confirmed by the Jesuit Father Dr. Henry Habib Ayrout, and by Rev. Dr. Ibrahim Said of the Protestant Evangelical Ministries. Nuns of the Society of the Sacred Heart also witnessed the apparitions and sent a detailed report to the Vatican, resulting in the arrival of an envoy on April 28 who also saw the apparitions and sent a report to Pope Paul VI.

The apparitions were also witnessed by President Gamal Abdel Nasser, and captured by newspaper photographers and Egyptian television. Investigations performed by the police could find no explanation for the phenomenon. No device was found within a radius of fifteen miles (24 km) capable of projecting the image, while the number of photographs from independent sources suggests that no photographic manipulation was involved.[1] A New York Times article dated from May 1968 by Thomas Brady notes that some Arabs believed that the apparition of St. Mary was a sign that God had witnessed the Israeli occupation of the Holy Land.

Vincent Ruello a film editor from Australia made an amazing discovery on the 13th March 2009 when he polarised the images which then revealed the face of our Blessed Lady Of Zeitoun. This latest developement in the Lady of Light is startling as it dispels the sceptics theory that they were just blobs of light and can be compared to the discovery of the face of Jesus on the Shroud Of Turin using photographic negatives. On the 20th March Vincent Ruello conducted a second stage polarisation which revealed Mary holding the Christ child. The hand of Mary Of Zeitoun can now be clearly seen as well as the fair skinned baby Jesus with dark wavy hair. See Youtube Reference below.

Marian apparitions are events in which the Virgin Mary is purported to have supernaturally appeared to one or more persons, typically but not always Christians. They are often given names based on the town in which they were reported, or on the soubriquet which was given to Mary on the occasion of the apparition, or on her reported clothing and hairstyle. They have been interpreted as psychological (pareidolia), and as religious phenomena, occasionally as theophanies. Apparitions sometimes recur at the same site over an extended period of time. Marian apparitions sometimes involve statues or images of Mary; of particular note are weeping statues, witnessed as producing tears. (from Wikipedia)

It amuses me greatly that you still can't acknowledge the light clearly going out at the 4.31 mark of the video you linked. Instead you ask for my scientific credentials then go off on what seemed like a tangent until I realized you simply copied and pasted this blog from a lovely woman whose profile states that the best explanation for her thought processes and feelings is that she is an abandoned alien baby left by the aliens who crashed at Roswell the year she was born. She sounds legit. Also, your (her) links are broken.

AAAAAAaaaaaaaand that's a wrap, folks.

Jewelz, this is great!  But let's not write Michael off so easily. Jesus appeared in my bowl of multi-grain cheerios this morning!  Check it:

Comic relief. but please help Jewelz construct an experiment to falsify the 2009 event. The 1969 event remains unfalsifiable
