I think I finally figured it out.

I think my son has an attachment disorder. And I think he has a streak of psychopathy. He has the callousness/lack of remorse side of it but he also has anxiety and depression. He had been diagnosed with straight PTSD but I no longer think it is "just" that.

He is 6.

Anyone else know what to do? Anyone else parent a kid with similar issues?

We have both suffered abuse so...and every week he is subjected to more when he goes with his Dad. Nothing his Dad does would be considered CPS worthy, (although I am consulting an attorney)...but...

Things are getting bad. My son has NO qualms about punching me in the face, kicking, hitting, spitting, hitting me over the head with toys...I got a call from the school that he told his best friend "I am going to kill you"...

Um. Yah. That is what I am dealing with. And that is only the beginning.

I do not know what to do.

The only thing I can think of is a second evaluation.

Some day he WILL be stronger than me. And it WILL happen before his brain has matured. So. I need to get this under control asap.

Any possibility you can get him committed for a while so the pros can observe him an give you their diagnosis? 

As the father of a girl who might be described as "a model child," I can only imagine how distraught you are.

Do check out some of Jo Frost's books and DVDs or Youtube or whatever she's got.  She really is an expert in sorting out all kinds of difficult kids.
