Hi everyone.  I'm new to the forum but not new to atheism.  I consider myself a lifelong atheist, so that puts me at 28 years and counting.  I live in Austin, TX (a bright blue dot treading water in a red sea) and originally come from Fort Worth, TX (which ain't so bad itself.)

I am currently a graduate student studying 20th-century U.S. history.  From 2006-2008 I lived in rural northeastern Japan, in a beautiful fishing village which is recovering from the tsunami and which I miss greatly.  I'm happily married and have a cat.  My major interests include classic movies, travel, writing, history, vegetarianism (almost three years), and of course atheism.  I'm a huge Trekkie as well as a Tolkien nerd.

I started following Think Atheist's Twitter feed a couple of months ago and decided to join the community.  So here I am!
