A while ago, 'She Who Must Be Obeyed', an almost Militant Christian, born of Missionary stock (who has since left me) was castigating me (again) for some or other Immagined or real offence against her and/or god.

I can't remember the details, but there were a lot of bible quotes being hurled at me.

In self defense. I hurled one back at her. Her eyes stretched open so wide, I thought her eyeballs were going to pop out, she blinked a couple of times, opened and shut her mouth like a grounded guppy, then spat at me, "How dare you quote the bible at me! You have no right! You don't believe in the bible!"

WTF? Because she believes in the bible, it's okay to hurl bible quotes at me, and expect me to take it seriously even though I don't believe in the bible? But if I use bible quotes as rebuttal, it's invalid because, I'm an Athiest?

Has anyone else come across this kind of mentality? Other than a facepalm, how do you rebut that?
