I did that for some time. But now I save the beratement for when people say something incredibly stupid.

For example I poked at one of my friends who said "You either Love jesus, or you hate him..." I had to add "Some people jsut don't give a flying F***"

I am like this too. I post things on facebook a lot. I never go to others pages and get all "god doesn't exist!" But I get people who say I "shove your beliefs down our throats!"

I have always preferred the personal approach and attempt to steer a discussion into the field of faith so as to pose questions that the faithful may have a difficult time answering and in the hope that they will see just how off target they are in their thinking. This is especially pleasant when they are with their children, I have had acquaintances jokingly chastise me since, following our discussion, their children were asking questions too. And every once in a while a christian will state something rather profound, thus helping me understand their faith better.

I just tell them straight away-- if they don't like it, there is nothing i can do.
