Hey guys! Me and Cara Coleen were sneaking around on the site, and Cara wanted to look at a physical Bible and then I remembered that the neighbor across the street gave me one for my high school graduation. The funny thing is, I never opened it. So, to my surprise, there was a little letter written inside of it. I thought it would be a good idea to share the hand written note with the rest of you guys and gals :]

This is a fabulous book - wonderfully written document by an investigative journalist, lawyer, atheist -

He researches every aspect of the story of Jesus Christ meticulously and the historical documentation is astonishing-amazing- Please read it at some point in your life- you won't be sorry you spent the time to read it.

Your friends-

This Bible is FUN because there's a lot of commentary from, not only the people who researched(?) and added their notes, but also from the person who gave it to Morgan. There are about 13 tabs stuck in the book which point out KEY verses that will lead Morgan into salvation, with some notes scribbled in such as "Morgan-God [has a] plan for you as you graduate from high school and always!" and then points to the correlating verse (Jeremiah 29:11).

This bout of circular reasoning is my FAVORITE! ...

First, there's a little tab pointing to 1 Corinthians 15:3-6, with this part underlined "...that Christ died for our sins according to Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen."

Underneath the actual Bible are notes which target certain verses; 15:5-8 is one, and it reads:

"There will always be people who say Jesus didn't rise from the dead. Paul assures us that many people saw Jesus after his resurrection: Peter; the disciples (the Twelve); more than 500 Christian believers (most of whom were still alive when Paul wrote this, although some had died); James (Jesus' brother); all the apostles; and finally, Paul himself. The resurrection is an historical fact. Don't be discouraged by doubters who deny the resurrection. Be filled with the hope because of the knowledge that one day you, and they, will see they living proof when Christ returns. (For more evidence on the resurrection, see the chart in Mark 16)"

This is where things become REALLY amusing. First of all, the authors use the Bible as proof of the Bible, i.e. Circular Reasoning.

EVIDENCE THAT JESUS ACTUALLY DIED AND ROSE AROSE: The evidence demonstrates Jesus' uniqueness in history and proves that he is God's Son. No one else was able to predict their own resurrection and then accomplish it.

1. Jesus was only unconscious and later revived.
2. The women made a mistake and went to the wrong tomb.
3. Unknown thieves stole Jesus' body.
4. The disciples stole Jesus' body.
5. The religious leaders stole Jesus' body to produce it later.

a. A Roman soldier told Pilate that Jesus was dead (Mark 15:44, 45)
b. The Roman soldiers did not break Jesus' legs, because he had already died, and one of them pierced Jesus' side with a spear. (John 19:32-34)
c. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus wrapped Jesus' body and placed it in the tomb. (John 19:38-40)
a. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses [typo?] saw Jesus placed in the tomb. (Matt 27:59-61, Mark 15:47, Luke 23:55)
b. On Sunday morning, Peter and John also went to the same tomb. (John 20:3-9)
The tomb was sealed and guarded by Roman soldiers. (Matt 27:65,66)
a. The disciples were ready to die for their faith. Stealing Jesus' body would have been admitting that their faith was meaningless. (Matt 27:65,66 Acts 12:2)
b. The tomb was guarded and sealed. (Matt 27:66)
If the religious leaders had taken Jesus body, they would have produced it to stop the rumors of his resurrection. (Source: NONE)

Don't you just love these "proofs"? Number five is my favorite! There's absolutely zero PROOF; their "evidence" is based on an inference/assumption. I suppose it's only logical in their minds to use the Bible as proof in and of itself because they believe it's the Word of God, but... wow. WOW. Since PAUL assures us that it happened, well, it must be true.
