New to the site and somewhat new to atheisim. Most of my adult life I guess I was agnostic and over the past year I had some events in my life that caused me to look at my beliefs. Once I looked at what I was raised to believe with a skeptical mind, I decided to embrace atheism.
Since then I have had a craving for knowledge like no other point in my life. I have read a obscene abount of books in a rather short time span. The majority of my family are Christians and I have been slowly "coming out" to the ones that I think will be more accepting. I have found myself in a rather lonely place in life because I want to engage with like minded people but I have a shortage of them in the "real world." That is what brought me to this site. Looking for more people that will understand and at least sometimes agree with my views.
I feel much like the first kid in a class that learns Santa isn't real. Up until now I just keep it to myself and giggle at the other kids who see a half eaten cookie as proof in flying deer.
