With respect to "guidance" and atheism, if that is what you're referring to, I think Atheism, A Very Short Introduction (Baggini) and Atheism, the Case Against God (Smith) are decent books to start with. There are many others, but I'm sure you will find them over time.

Hi Corie. I'm new here myself, but I'm from the United Kingdom. I have to say it sounds as though atheists in the US have a far more difficult time 'coming out' than we do over here. It sounds as though atheists are really scorned.

I hope you make many friends in the 'enlightened' community!
