My definition of god:
God: inverse dog. Not loyal, not man's friend (let alone best friend) doesn't listen, and finally - not real.

A spiritual person governing man seems to fit almost any notion whether theist or polytheist. Some people refer to a concept called pantheism, but I don't see how theism (belief in a personal deity) can fit in with that concept. It seems to be a self-contradictory notion.
