I am Atheist and I talk with my friend's at school about religion and we do a lot of talking on the ways God cant exist. If he is the so called creator of everything and he make's everything happen then why would he create the stuff he's against. like sinning, war, murder, and many other stuff. Also God is racist because we get to live a good life while there are people out there who suffer because of famine and not to mention he tried to wipeout all the Jews with one man named Adolph Hitler. People who worshiped, Followed him and he tried to wipe them out in brutal ways.

I would like your feedback on this to prove that God cant exist.

There are those who use philosophy to disprove god by examining the attributes of the purported god and concluding that those attributes are insupportable. There are those who say as long as a matter is not falsifiable it is not real. Others ask which gods and how to distinguish one from the other.

For my part it is much more helpful to examine the history of religion. Instead of questioning the mental patient about her delusion, examine what she has done, what she has caused. Without ranting i will simply tell you, Hunter, I am an anti-theist.

Even Richard Dawkins is what he calls a "De facto atheist" which means he believes it's highly unlikely that there is a God, and so lives under the assumption that God does not exist. However, what he doesn't say is "God absolutely does not exist."

The God you've defined that where one could put up a moral argument against is the common notion of God as supernatural entity, the omniscient and omnibenevolent being that watches over everyone and punishes or rewards you when you die. More sophisticated theologians such as Paul Tillich or Thomas Aquinas did not think of God in this form of simplistic monotheism but interpreted the divine as a pantheism. The original conceptions of God weren't even monotheistic, but henotheistic and panentheistic the further you go back into the history of religion.

I think you and your friends are trapped in thinking of the divine as purely a monotheistic abstraction as it is often depicted in western religion such as Christianity or Judaism. In Hinduism, for instance, Brahman, the divinity of Hinduism, is both the author of good and evil, and so sinning, war, etc. are all ultimately the doing of Brahman, and even the baby with syphilis is the dreaming Godhead in the Hindu conception of God.

So, I think what you're ultimately doing in attempting to "prove that God can't exist" is making your argument against western monotheism while ignoring various other conceptions of God.

The God as described by many (though not all theists) all doing all knowing all powerful and all good...etc. is impossible so theists must resort to special pleading "God is so wow that he can be all these things at once...somehow". However not all theists in various religions make this claim so demonstrating these logical inconsistencies is not enough to prove a God doesn't exist As Raymond Tallis (humanist extraordinaire) pointed out many of our standard critiques of God and religion isn't even necessary to dismiss God. For example:

God is a cruel asshole: Yes he is but that doesn't mean he doesn't exist.
The bible has factually incorrect information: Quite true but he could still exist.

The catholic has committed a list of endless unspeakable atrocities that offend the very human spirit and human dignity: They still do...but there could still be a God

Churches collapse and kill people while praying and holy men meet terrible ends: Again this could still be true while God exists

The reason Tallis dismisses Gods existence is because it is all such a load of preposterous crap...A loving god in the sky you telepathically chat with who damned all humans and then raped a woman...existed as a human...experienced human frailty...got tortured and committed suicide...left no lasting evidence of it yet the loving forgiving God united with Zombie child wants you to be a loving kind soul yet will torture you for eternity if you doubt their existence..

Its such absurd nonsense it is as worthy of belief as Elvis still living in Tweed Ontario whose music tells us how to live or Zorg Zorg aliens in space who told Joe Blow about their future coming and gives vague rules on how to reorganise the world before their coming.

Unfalsifiable bullshit is not worth taking seriously even as a proposition and the Abrahamic God is no different and deserves no special treatment. This position is called ignosticism. A outlandish claim that is not testable. To even say it is true or false is besides the point. As are.the logical inconsistencies. Who cares? Its unfalsifiable rediculous nonsense. Its not even an argument.

To believe in God as described by religion, you have to believe in magic. REAL magic, not clever illusions like David Copperfield or David Blaine create.

The God as described by Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and most other theistic faiths is a cosmic sorcerer. What reason could there be, based on what we know, to believe in that?

I would like your feedback on this to prove that God cant exist.

First things first: It's not up to the atheist to prove anything; we listened to the theists claims and rejected them as nonsense (rightly, imo). Now that that's out of the way, we can talk about the impossibility of God in a variety of ways.

Lets start with the famous quote regarding god allowing evil to exist which goes something like:

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

- Epicurus

So for this we start with the fact that evil exists and draw conclusions about God depending on God's ability and will.

Lets look more at omnipotence, which is in itself a logical contradiction. All you have to do to show this is ask "Can God make a rock so heavy even he can't lift it?" If the answer is yes, then God is not omnipotent since he can't lift the rock. If the answer is no, then God is not omnipotent as he can't create a rock that he can't lift.

Ultimately, you will need to address the specific god claims you are talking about. i.e. define God, then find logical contradictions in the definition.

Nope doesn't exist.  But neither you nor I can prove a negative.

There is no blue whale in my bathtub, and I can prove it. The problem with the God claim is the nature of the claim, which is inherently unprovable rather than factually unprovable.

If you're an atheist, why are you blaming God for sin, war, murder, famine, and genocide?

Seems like a waste of time.  You should get over that.  Instead of wanting God to be your and the rest of humanity's baby-sitter,  perhaps you should try growing up and taking responsibility.

Aren't you the one "living the good life" while people are suffering because of famine, dying because of war and genocide?   Blaming God seems like a poor excuse for your own failure to act, regardless of whether or not God exists.

I think you confuse the young man's argument that god as depicted in the bible and supposedly controlling all, is obviously a terrible entity, and therefore doesn't exist....

With thinking he DOES exist.

So, the flaw in the argument is NOT that he believes god exits, its that he believes he doesn't exist because the things he's DESCRIBED as responsible for indicate he should not exist.

IE: God can exist if its a sadistic asshole.

Logically, one cannot PROVE a non-falsifiable negative claim.

Claiming no gods exist, based upon the evidence, is fine, but, you can't PROVE it.

So, I believe no gods exist, based upon the same evidence that no invisible unicorns exist...but I cannot PROVE no invisible unicorns, or gods, exist, as it is a non-falsifiable negative claim.

try growing up and taking responsibility.

Because Trump's wall and the sarin gas attack in syria are are YOUR responsibility. </sarcasm>

Really Dr Bob? None of these things could be in any way influenced by a 13 year old AND are not in any way their responsibility. What a weird thing to say.

Also, as TJ mentioned, I think you are mistaking a logical disproof of god for belief in god. We can talk about God as a character in the same way we talk about Frodo, it doesn't mean we think they exist.

God doesn't exist. No one there to blame. What atheists blame are the theists who do horrific and silly things based on a bunch of documents composed by ignorant savages.

Hunter; unfortunately there is no way to either prove or disprove the existence of a god or gods. This argument has been going on for years and years and has yet to be resolved.

I am a rabid atheist (some would call me a strong atheist) I contend there is not now and never has been a god or gods, that Christianity is as much myth as Greek, Egyptian or Norse gods. But that being said I cannot "prove" my stance any more than a religious person can absolutely prove that God exists.

I have strong reservations about the Bible; the proof of god is a circular argument, the Bible was written (in a manner of speaking) by God but the only way we know about God is thru his written word, it's called a circular argument because it relies on itself as proof.

This is only my take on religion and god, take it with a grain of salt if you want. In the end you must go with your gut feeling. As far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with believing in some sort of superbeing as long as you still conduct yourself morally and ethically.
