What do you think?

Here is my take:
Destroying a political symbol, a national symbol or any other symbol is protected by our first amendment.
However, introducing fire and lighter fluid, especially in a group of emotionally charged people can be dangerous.

We need to invent a safe-burning flag or something. The last thing anyone wants is a protester with third degree burns.

Or, maybe that is exactly what we want. ;-)
It is not only my right to burn the American flag, but also my right to burn anyone that's burning the American flag!
The last part of the sentence may be taking it a little too far. :) After all, it may be me burning the flag.
I was kidding about burning flag burners. As I said in my original post, as long as it isn't a matter of health and safety, I think they should go balls out and do whatever it takes to send the message they want to send.

While I hate to see it, I think this video sums it up nicely.
I fucking LOVE Penn and Teller.
I just started watching it like a month ago.
It does not bother me that people burn the flag. What bothers me is that it is real trendy to burn the flag, and say how much they hate this country. And they don't really give any reasons why they hate it or how to make it better. So if you are gonna burn a flag at least give some sort of reason why you feel they way you do, and try to do something proactive about it.
People who rebuke flag burners are often the same people who see nothing wrong with burning innocent brown people to death with incendiary devices while waving the flag and their bibles.
I love ad hominem
Sorry. Forrest. I was directing my ire against hypocrites--not you personally.
Liar! ;-)
I've personally been involved in burning lots of American flags. I don't like the ones that are made of nylon, polyester, or God Knows What from China. I think they should all be made of canvas and natural dyes in order to reduce air pollution and minimize our flag-burner's exposure to carcinogens.
