Oh, I'm not here to defend the US. But a lot of those guys had a habit of imprisoning or assassinating their opponents. So don't try to pass them off as angelic.

Where did I say or imply they were "angelic"?  The capitalist/imperialist system is maintained through massive amounts of violence, everyday, everywhere.  A socialist revolution is the destruction of the capitalist system and since power does not just yield itself over peacefully, it usually takes warfare to displace it.  One class replaces another, one system replaces another:
