Durable products that should last you a lifetime

Hi friends! Been a while! I am traveling a lot for my job.

Anyways, I am on a new kick for products that will last a lifetime rather than a few years. That means everything from bikes to cars to all the way to shoes/clothes and everything in between.

I am curious what your favorite products are that in your opinion will last a lifetime.

For example, this is my carry on luggage: http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1510

I look forward to seeing what you post!

Craftsman hand tools. They are US made and have a life-time warranty. If they ever break you just carry one into a Sears somewhere and can get it replaced for free.

But not the cordless power tools. They change up the battery configuration every few years so new batteries won't fit the old tools.

I'd like to hear about everyone's ideas too. I'm on a kick right now where I don't want to buy it if it's not made out of durable, recyclable materials. Obviously not the easiest standards to fulfill!

 I love thrift stores.

I have a set of furniture that is at least 70 years old. It ain't pretty but it's still standing. I debate whether it's worth refinishing and repairing. I seriously doubt it's going to be worth much as an antique.

A friend of mine has exactly two different grades of furniture in his house.  Dirt cheap (oftentimes self made) so he loses almost nothing when it breaks, and expensive, so he doesn't have to worry about it breaking.

I have a cat and I early on decided to try not to be a no-no-no person with my new roomie, so she gets to sharpen her claws on the couch. It was a bargain to start with and when it begins to look shabby, I'll get another bargain couch.

Original Nintendo

Anvils, they can take a pounding.

Irish Luck.

Diesel engine cars can last 400,000 miles if taken care of. Depending on your driving, that could be a lifetime.

I still have a condom I bought 40 years ago. Not a cheap drug store brand. Nope a genuine Trojan.

It hasn't been that lucky for you, has it? :p
