All the forces in the world are not so powerful as an idea whose time has come.
Climate change is real. We've buried our heads in the sand long enough. It's time for action.
The good news is that even though the scientists who deliver the message of climate change are ill-equipped to ALSO do something about it, there is an entire industry of architects, construction managers, engineers, and contractors that are starting to have an impact by building sustainable infrastructure. But these changes are coming slowly. One of the reasons is that there is not a cohesive, comprehensive consensus around even the most basic of conversations in regards to sustainability. It's not as simple as recycling, and adding a few skylights. When we think about changing the very buildings that we live in, not only healthier for humans, also healthy for Earth's natural processes, we have many challenges ahead of us.
So I want to start the discussion here by asking:
What do YOU think it means to have a sustainable design?
Do you believe that we CAN create a world with sustainable design?
Do you CARE about being part of the solution?
I mean REALLY??
