Recently while i was browsing another forum, I came across a thread about bibles in hotel rooms. The OP was complaining that his rooms’ bible was missing because he had some anti bible material so stick on it.

Then some others joined in and told how they had written things in hotel bibles.

I didn’t like hearing that. I think its vandalism.

I wondered how I would feel if I picked up a book by Christopher Hitchens and found that some religious nut had defiled it. I would hate that.

I think that if someone finds comfort in holding a bible, just like a rabbits foot, why ruin it?                              I dont really want atheists like that representing me?

I don’t know....  What’s going on?

What will you do when the hotel bible goes all kindle? .....
Battle for tablet supremacy

Starting this month, however, the InterContinental Hotels Group is modernizing that mission at one of its hotels, replacing the paper tomes with electronic versions of the Bible loaded on Kindle e-readers.

"Anything to put the Bible in people's hands is a good thing," Gideons spokesman Ken Stephens said. "It is a fascinating idea, and I'm sure somehow, some way, its time will come for us. But right now just the paper version is the best for what we do."

What will you do when the hotel bible goes all kindle?

The article says "all 148 rooms at the Hotel Indigo will contain a Kindle e-reader pre-loaded with a copy of the Bible".

I imagine the sticker would be even harder to remove from the back of a Kindle than from the inside cover of a Bible. It would be more noticeable too. Bring on the Kindles, I say.

hahaha ...

Oops ... I mean ... thats wrong Gallup

: )

Im reading a little about Gideon in the bible now ...

Its all too bizarre ... I dont understand it.

I always thought that the Gideons were a big old bible family in the US who just distributed these books.

Any hotel I stay in gets a sticker from me.

I'm not a sticker fan per say, but that one really does sum things up rather nicely. 2 Thumbs Up!

I have terrorized my hometown for years. Every time I stop through I vandalize something. I've taken the heads off of the largest (religious) statues, I've driven around by night filling my trunk with those smaller Mary statues you see adorning peoples' lawns and deposited them into the river, I've spray-painted more messages than I can remember.

I feel about the same (the "rabbit's foot"). But for me, vandalism is more about my fun than how my viewers feel about it. Their reaction is at best more gratifying (getting it in the paper) and at worst irrelevant-- which is still pretty gratifying. Most the fun lies in the fact that, oh, hey. you're doing a night operation! You're sneaking around, possibly dressed like a ninja (depending on whether or not the plan requires you to blend into the populace), you've got this whole intricate plan set up with contingencies and escape routes and... so good.

In short I don't think it's something to be disappointed in. No one's going out crucifying priests. It's not the Reign of Terror. For me, it's impish. (But I'd be lying if I said there wasn't some feeling of vindication in it).

He's right, you know, Lewal.  Here, this might help :)

ha, I have enlisted the help of others in the past. I guess I shouldn't advertise it though...

Don't worry, I'm a professional.

Oh For Real
Your a scream
I feel like lecturing you but I cant ...
I wont argue with a Ninja
