Court rules Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal's taxpayer-funded religious school voucher plan violates constitution

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, right-wing darling and presumptive 2016 Republican nominee for President, took a major hit today when the state's highest court ruled his signature school voucher plan violates the state’s constitution.

The Court found in a vote of 6 to 1 that Jindal's voucher plan is illegal because it funnels taxpayer dollars to pay for private and religious school tuitions.

Jindal is apparently willing to circumvent the state constitution. Today he said he is “committed to making sure this program continues”, "committed to making sure choice is alive and families can send their children to the school of their choice", and that he would find another way fund the $40 million voucher program.

No surprise there. For all of the 'we love the Constitution' propaganda they spout, the religious right has no problem violating it whenever they want to promote their religion.
