The corporations as people thing was a lie from the start. The Robber Barons wanted to pillage the country, so they got their subservient Supreme Court, which was stuffed with pro-business judges, to pretend that corporations were previously judged to be people when in truth it never happened. It was a sham and the corporations hijacked our country.
Random fact: Sotomayor came out against corporate personhood.
