I am a former reverend, "goody two-shoes" and all around ex-"lover of Jesus."
Yeah, I'm not too proud of my brainwashed days, but it's part of my history.
Now, I blog about my former church and my lack of beliefs. Almost everyone from my former church (including family and friends) has read my blog. Needless to say, I've disappointed MANY, many people.
Including, my parents.
I went home last weekend and was confronted by my dad who had to ask if I still loved God (to which I said no) and why I had to blame all churches for what happened to me in my church.
We argued for an entire hour. I think both of my parents know that I'm not a Christian anymore, and really don't like it. They do still love me and will never disown me, but jesuschrist, it's AWFUL to keep having these same conversations over and over and over with friends and family. Worse when it's family.
How did you come out to your Christian parents?
How did they take it?
How do you deal with statements and accusations made to you by "friends?"
