Don Lemon is a CNN anchor mostly seen on weekends. He came out as gay a couple years ago. Now he causes an even bigger stir with remarks on the problems facing black people that many blacks probably had been aired in a more, well, black setting rather than in front of a largely non-black audience. It's only six and a half minutes long but you can safely start it at 1:25 in and go right to the "meat" of his discussion. You'll soon realize why this segment is so controversial.
His main point is that, yes there is racism and it's a terrible problem, but black people and young black males in particular have to be part of the solution. Here goes:
Normally, I'm not the first to reply to my own discussions, however before anyone asks or makes assumptions, I've been a lifelong Democrat. I define myself as a quasi-libertarian at the liberal end of that spectrum. At the same time, I'm not an ideologue. While I'm liberal in most matters, I don't believe that conservatives are always wrong. Just most of the time.
